Subtle, refined, and fascinating, this piece effectively strips the water from the Waitemata Harbour, blurring the line between city and sea. By removing all colours and street data, it transforms a map into a more sculptural, abstract item. Topography is also represented in this piece, however finding the sea-level dividing layer will take a closer inspection...

Each layer in this piece is cut from bamboo plywood, a rapidly renewable and beautiful resource. Our supplier uses formaldehyde-free E0 glues, and works with sustainably sourced bamboo. We cut, hand-sand and colour each layer using a colourfast, non-toxic stain of our own formulation. We then fit the piece into an NZ grown FSC pine frame.
This piece ships in a matte white frame only.
